Investment
Investing in mental health may be one of your most important investments. We believe that all clients are worthy of a safe and ethical therapeutic space.
Longleaf Counseling & Collaboration is in network with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield, and considered out of network with all other insurances.
We are specifically paneled with certain insurances for ethical reasons. Here are some stigmas and barriers that some clients do not realize they are at risk for by filing with insurance companies: certain insurances can limit the amount of sessions and can decide they will not cover and assign you a number of sessions, at any time the insurance company can pull any of your notes, treatment plans, and intake and audit them and decide if therapy is “still needed” and if they will continue to cover, your diagnosis and notes become a part of your medical record with insurance companies and can potentially affect premiums in the future.
For the reasons listed above and more, we made an intentional decision for our clients and our practice to carefully review insurance contracts and insurances to be in network with.
We fully support clients filing in network and will do this for BCBS and Aetna, and, out of network reimbursement with insurances that we do do not have a contract with, through their insurance. We are able to provide a super bill for potential reimbursement. Longleaf utilizes Mentaya for out of network clients - this service can verify your out of network benefits and you can receive reimbursement back depending upon your out of network benefits.
We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Use this tool to see if you qualify for reimbursement for our services.

GOOD Faith estimate
Under federal law, for those who do not have insurance or elect not to use their insurance, you are entitled to a "Good Faith Estimate", which is an estimate of the total bill for medical items and services. This explains how much your therapy services will cost. Here are a few key things you should know about your Good Faith Estimate:
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. The estimate is based on information known at the time the estimate was created. The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You may be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur.
You may ensure that I give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 3 business days before your therapy services or item. You can also ask me for a Good Faith Estimate prior to scheduling. If you receive a bill that is $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill with the US Department of Health and Human Service (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill. It's recommended that you save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
