Mission

Longleaf Counseling & Collaboration, PLLC exists to provide a compassionate, accessible, and equitable therapeutic space and believes that all individuals deserve a place to be heard, supported, believed, and a place to begin to embark on their therapeutic journey to heal and transform. We believe in collaborations, emotional connections, modern mental health care and a space to dive in - and to never be alone.

Why Longleaf? The Longleaf Pine Tree is one of the most resilient and strongest trees that can withstand storms, negative impacts, and change. It begins at its roots and grows, just as we do as humans. We have roots, stems, branches, and require watering, nurturing, and growth to continue prospering and sometimes, to simply maintain.

You will find joy again.

You did not think the unthinkable would happen. What is the unthinkable? Losing a job, a violent crime, yes. But it is also, feeling anxious and experiencing panic out of nowhere, not wanting to leave the house and feeling so teary that you called out of work again - or maybe the opposite, feeling so numb that you would do anything to feel something, anything.

You may be lying in bed feeling panic - wondering what days were like before crippling anxiety, or worried about your child or teenager who just does not seem themselves, maybe it is a high stress job, or you have been through trauma - or, maybe, you are going through a life transition and need a supportive ear. There is no reason too big or too small to seek out support.

We would give anything to have days where we experience joy, laughter, feeling unstuck, not experience panic, the ability to feel and identify emotions and not avoid them - or maybe, you are not the laughing type and want to just feel better in whatever that looks like for you.

Can I let you in on something? You are not alone.

Our Services

  • We provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults.

lndividual therapy is a form of therapy where a person meets one-on-one with a therapist to address emotional, psychological, behavioral issues that can stem from trauma, anxiety, life transitions and more. You may just need a listening ear or you may need to address self harm, learn how to set boundaries, or address recent or previous trauma. Everyone has a place in individual therapy. It allows for a personalized approach to understanding and resolving personal challenges through modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, dialectical behavioral therapy, talk therapy, etc.

  • Group therapy involves a small group of individuals, typically led by a licensed therapist, coming together to discuss their shared lived experiences. It provides a supportive environment where participants can provide insights, feedback, and encouragement to one another. Group therapy fosters a sense of belonging and community.

Longleaf currently has 3 group offerings coming for Summer/Fall 2024:

    • Self Compassion for Millenials: Addressing Impostor Syndrome, People Pleasing, and Boundary Setting

    • Survivors of Sexual Assault (18+)

    • DBT Skills for Teens Group (12-17)

  • Family therapy involves working with the family unit to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and work on interpersonal resolutions. It focuses on understanding the dynamics within the family system and how they contribute to individual and relational family concerns and needs. Sessions focus on individuals and their strengths and needs they bring to the family system.

Family therapy helps with adaptive ways of communicating, interacting, addressing unresolved conflict, boundary setting, and strengthening relationships.

This can be beneficial to any family but specifically to families experiencing divorce, various challenges, parenting concerns, substance use within the family, and major life transitions.
